LAKE WINNIE FISHING REPORT

Big Winnie walleye fishing has been good. Early and later in the day has been best. Shiners and rainbow minnows working well. Fish the edges of shore drops or mainlake drops from 14 to 18 feet of water. Dead sticking your tail hooked minnows. Day side you can venture down the drop toward the basin for a couple more bites.

Jigging spoons with a minnow head will call them in.

Perch action has been spotty. Look to the shore tops with some weed growth. They are in there eating crayfish. Find crayfish you have perch. Waxes are working well. Smaller jigging spoons with a minnow head also working.

Roaming schools of perch are also off the main lake structures. They are eating bugs out of the mud. They seem to be moving quite a bit. Puff up the mud with your baits , they will hit it.

Pike action around the lake has been good. Suckers on tip ups 2to 4 feet off bottom works well.

Ice condition generally good. Thickness varies. most areas resorts are running on is 15 to 19 inches. Lesser spots are not plowed to. Check in at the resorts you are going on the from for an acurate report on there roads.
