LAKE WINNIE FISHING REPORT

Walleye action is heating up. Summer patterns working well. Warming water and bug hatches have started the the crawler and leech bite. We are seeing weeds up between 2 and 4 feet . They are in 7 to 12 feet of water. Trolling spinners and leech or crawler working well. Look to those weed edges. The main lake bars are all holding some fish. Play the wind , run the tope edges down to 25 feet. Same program , spinners till you find a pod then rig or jig them. Humps north of center bar are producing fish also. Look toward the tops of the humps in 16 to 20 feet. Check off the sides. Seems as the fish are suspending at the depth of the tops but sometimes away from the humps buy a thousand yards.

Perch action has been spotty. They have been in the mud eating bugs. With the weed growth getting going we are seeing them move back in. The will filter into those weeds to eat minnows and crawfish. Jigs and a fathead will work fine.

Pike are very active. Bigger baits bigger fish. Look to the weed edges in that 7 to 12 feet of water and troll.

Water temps in the low seventy range now. Time to go fishing Pat.
