Lake Winnie Fishing Report
Walleye action settling into summer patterns. Several bite windows through out the day. Trolling is your best option now. Rigging at 1.3 mph with crawlers or leeches. Spinners at 1.3 to 2.0 with crawlers or leeches. Main lake bars and humps will have you fishing in 12 to 28 feet of water. Shoreline weed edges have been working also in the 10 to 15 foot range on the outer edges. On nice evenings fishing well into dark has brought great results trolling smaller crank baits. Just fish them a bit higher in the water column. Plenty of fish as far as sizes. We are now seeing 12 and 13 inch fish showing up. Great news for next year.
Perch action has been getting better also. Weed beds have been the place to look. Fish a jig and fathead minnow in the weed edges on the inside about 8 foot or the outside around 12 foot. West side from Townsight landing through Mallard point has been hard to beat.
Pike have as most of this season been good. Trolling big cranks or spoons fast. Look outside edges of weed beds in the 12 foot range. If you find good size perch the Pike
will be close by.
See you on the lake. Pat.
