Lake Winnie Fishing Report from May 17, 2018
Hello, from Big Winni! Walleye action on opener was great and still going strong. Thirty to fifty fish days are common. Jigs and minnows are the bait of choice. Look to shore drops from ten to 18 feet. Colors vary but not important now. The fish are hungry. Size is good with 13 inchers, some 15 inchers and the 17 inch year class males (remember slot is 18-23").
The perch bite is dong good also in the same area as walleye but a touch deeper. Same baits. Time to get into some spring fishing now. Shiners are starting to run now. That bait will available at area bait shops this week.
See you on the water!
