Lake Winni Fishing Report for June 9, 2017

Big Winni walleyes are heating up as good as the weather lately! Great walleye fishing these last few days! Look to the main lake bars and humps. Tops of the structures down to 26 feet have been the best. They are eating several times a day. Minnows, leeches and crawlers are all bringing in fish.

The walleye are setting into summer patterns so you need bait options as they change their mood (and preferences) throughout the day. Rigging is working well now. Simple plain hook and a sinker. Play the wind, look for the wind to blow into or along the breaks you want to fish.

Water temps are up in the mid sixty range. Weeds are coming up.

Pike fishing is really good at this time, with plenty of fish to be had in the 22 to 28 inch range. Trolling or casting spoons is the way to go.

Perch are doing well after the spawn. Look to the shoreline areas in the 8 to 12 foot range. Jig and fathead minnow the way to go. Time to go fishing!

See you on the lake.
