Lake Winni Fishing Report for May 24, 2017

Hello, from Big Winni. With cooler temps and some rain, the walleye bite has remained a bit more shallow than what can happen this time of year. Look first at the shore drops from 8 feet out to 15 feet deep. Play the wind so it is blowing into or along the shore you fish. The west side of the lake is doing well, from Judd's thru the River Bar area, then up to Raven Point - good walleye action. Raven Rocks out to 15 feet deep has been good, also.

The perch bite on Big Stoney is hot now!!! Look toward the rock bar west of the point, in 8 feet out to 10 feet, using jigs and fatheads till you find them. Then stay there! You will have your perch dinner very quickly!!

Some of the humps north of Third River Bar are kicking out walleye in the 17 to 30 foot depths. More fish to throw back but a hoot to catch good quantities of walleyes. Tamarac Bay has some walleye coming off the river channel. Coming down the east side Moxey and the Saddle has some fish coming in also.

Water temps are getting back toward the mid fifty range.

Time to go fishing - see you on the lake!
